Brazilian Securities Commission Should Pay 'Extraordinary Attention' to Crypto Assets, Director Nominee Says
The Brazilian Securities Commission (CVM) should pay "unique consideration" to crypto exercises, chief candidate Otto Eduardo Fonseca de Albuquerque Lobo said on Monday.
Fonseca Lobo was selected by President Jair Bolsonaro for the CVM board in June. His application was supported by the Economic Affairs Commission (CAEO) of the Federal Senate on Monday, as indicated by Poder 360.
"One point that merits uncommon consideration concerns crypto-exercises, which have no guideline in the country. Regardless, this year the CVM approved the exchanging of ETFs, file assets, of crypto resources' protections in Brazil," Fonseca Lobo said during a meeting before representatives.
Fonseca Lobo didn't give further subtleties on how he expects to manage crypto resources, yet he said that issues like a proposition for new guideline of public contributions, another guideline for speculation reserves, an ESG plan and correspondence on corporate requests are of "most prominent pertinence in the CVM's administrative plan."
